Course Description: This self-study two-hour continuing education course provides post-COVID updates to the education, clinical skill, and ability of the therapist or counselor. Research is provided that also demonstrates the effectiveness of the telehealth modality of therapy/counseling. It is essential to ensure that professionals providing services using videoconferencing mediums maintain trained and skilled in the modality in order to offer the best quality of care.
Course Objectives:
After completing this continuing education activity, participants will be able to:
- Better their understanding of the history of Tele-Behavioral Health.
- Demonstrate knowledge of systematic research reviews related to Tele-Behavioral Health.
- Identify the Tele-Behavioral Health skills of Engagement, Therapeutic Alliance, and Tele-Presence.
- Identify disinhibition and understand how it can affect the therapeutic session.
- Understand the importance of safety as it relates to Tele-Behavioral Health sessions.
- Identify best practices and professional guidelines as it relates to Tele-Behavioral Health.
